August 2008:

UPMCMEP Department of Dermatology would like to announce the following new appointments effective August 1st, 2008:

  • Joseph C. English III, MD as Clinical Vice Chairman for Quality and Innovation
  • Larisa Geskin, MD as Residency Program Director
  • Timothy Patton, DO as Associate Residency Program Director
  • Laura Ferris, MD, PhD as Medical Director of Falk Clinic

March 2008:

UPMCMEP Department of Dermatology has matched with the following medical school students who will begin their Residency in Dermatology with us in July 2009:

  • Nicole Velez from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
  • Inderjit Chabra from the State University of New York Stony Brook School of Medicine.
  • Patrick Safo from Harvard Medical School.

January 2008:

Joseph C. English III, MD, Associate Professor of Dermatology and Program Director was selected as one of three Associate Editors for Medical Dermatology for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology starting in April 2008.

Bruce Brod, MD, a 1991 PITT DERM graduate, was awarded the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology "Dermatologist of the Year Award".
